Lebanon Visa Regulations

Comprehensive entry requirements for all nationalities

Citizens of GCC Countries & Jordan

Concerned Countries

Formalities Required

  • Free visa stamped on passport (3 months for Jordanians, 6 months for GCC citizens)
  • Extendable to one year free of charge at General Directorate of General Security
  • Maids/drivers/bodyguards can be extended without employer present if they provide notarized document
  • Employer's full name and nationality must be mentioned on employees' passports
  • Employees must have valid residency permit from employer's country
  • Drivers can enter by land if car is registered to employer
  • Jordanian citizens with national number passports get free 6-month multiple entry visa for professional reasons

Special Note:

GCC and Jordanian citizens with national number passports arriving as tourists are exempt from entry visas, including family members, maids, drivers, and bodyguards.

Formalities Required

  • Free 1-month visa extendable to 3 months
  • Must communicate current address to General Security and any changes
  • 5-day visit to Syria permitted with 1-month visa

Special Cases:

  • Emergency passport holders from Canada, France, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark or Australia get immediate 1-month visa extendable to 3 months
  • Ukrainian children under 18 with travel document get free 1-month visa extendable to 3 months
  • Some categories may get 1-year residency permit (permanent or courtesy)
  • Polish temporary passport holders get immediate 1-month visa extendable to 3 months

Special Requirements for Female Citizens (17-45 years)

Requirements

  • Non-refundable round trip airline ticket
  • Hotel reservation or clear residency address
  • Exemptions for those with advance authorization or wives of Lebanese citizens (must provide marriage certificate)
  • Female artists/masseuses require advance authorization with specific contract
  • If stayed abroad for 1 year, entry permitted according to origin country regulations
  • If stayed abroad less than 1 month, cannot return without General Security authorization

Additional Requirements for Certain Cases:

  • Wives of Palestinian/Syrian refugees or residency permit holders must have marriage certificate
  • Mother-in-law of Lebanese citizen must prove family tie
  • Wives of Lebanese citizens who worked as artists/masseuses must have marriage certificate and spent 1 month abroad with husband
  • Members of official delegations or diplomatic/service passport holders exempt
  • Those with valid Syrian residency or student visa get 2-week entry visa and departure certificate

Diplomats and Official Personnel

Eligible Categories

  • Arab and foreign diplomats
  • Domestic workers accompanying Lebanese families abroad
  • UN tourist pass holders and family members
  • Diplomats' family members with diplomatic passports
  • Foreign citizens working in DCAF
  • Citizens of Kazakhstan, Colombia, Brazil, Cuba, Greece, Kyrgyz Republic with diplomatic/service passports

Requirements

  • Free multiple entry 6-month visa at airports/border posts
  • Domestic workers must have employer's name, number, nationality on passport with "accompanying employer" statement
  • Must leave with employer
  • Same applies to domestic workers of diplomats accredited in Syria (need employment proof and valid Syrian residency)

Specific Country Provisions:

  • Kazakhstan: 1-month visa within 180 days from entry
  • Colombia: 3-month visa renewable once within 1 year
  • Brazil/Cuba: 3-month visa within 1 year for diplomatic/official/special/service passports
  • Greece/Kyrgyz Republic: 3-month multiple entry visa within 6 months
